Thoughts :)

FIRST i want to remind everyone that Logan and I are getting married in 5 and a half weeks :) Its insane how fast it is going by! It still seems a ways away for me, but in the big picture time has absolutely flown by! I just cant wait to be married.

So this week the Yes on Prop 8 signs have been delivered and put up in various places in california, this really makes me happy and excited that so many people are showing there support. With that said, we put one up on our front lawn and in broad daylight someone came up and took it down! We were home we just didnt see who the little sneak was, but we were surely upset, so we put another one up :) But so many people have been telling people about prop 8 and word is definitely getting around at how important it is. My cousin rachel heard about it for the first time today from a friend who is extremely passionate about it and is literally calling every person she knows to teach them more about it. I think its fantastic!

On the news today they covered the story about the teacher in san francisco who took her FIRST GRADE class on a fieldtrip to city hall to watch her and her partner get married and after words they showered the couple with rose petals. i was blown away by this! The teacher claimed it was a learning experience for her students and she wanted them to see first hand same-sex marriage being accepted. How absurd is that?! As 6 and 7 year olds you hardly know what marriage is, let alone being exposed to same-sex marriage at such a young ages truly frightens me for my future childrens' sake. I cant even imagine what will happen if Prop 8 doesnt pass, the future really does depend on us and whether or not we vote. This will be the first year that I am able to vote and i am sooo grateful that i get to during such a critical time, I really am not willing to see what will happen if prop 8 doesnt pass

Dear Michelle,
How lucky you are to have an upcoming wedding. That is very exciting and I wish you all the best!
I imagine you love Logan very much. When you look at him you are overcome with happiness, excitment, and joy for what your life will be with him. My brother has also found someone special. When he looks at the love of his life he is excited about their future together and the wonderful times they will share.
My brother is gay. He did not choose this. He was genetically programmed to be gay. How fortunate you are not to have to deal with the stress placed on him daily by close-minded, unaccepting individuals, just because of who you are. God would never give someone a challenge they could not handle. My brother is accepting this challenge whole-heartedly (that is if you can even call it a challenge, some may see it as a blessing). He is being true to himself about who he is and not molding himself to someone else's ideals.
In addition to various legal benefits, marriage is about love. It's about spending your life with that one true person you know is right for you. It doesn't matter who is sharing their life with whom. It only matters that they love and support each other. God is very accepting and kind. God would not punish someone for choosing to romantically love another individual of the same sex. Open your heart and see what marriage is really about: LOVE.
All the best on the 22nd. I only hope my brother's wedding day (because he will have one) is as special as yours will be.

I never called Michelle closed-minded, cold hearted and unaccepting. :(
